New Carnival Museum in Aguilas
Exhibitions displaying the most extravagant Carnival costumes are housed at the Casa de la Cultura in Águilas, Murcia
A new museum dedicated to the famous Águilas Carnival opened on August 10 2021 on the first floor of the Casa de la Cultura Francisco Rabal and is now open to the public.
The new Museum increases the cultural attractions on offer in Águilas and is a "must-see" for anyone who enjoys the famous Águilas Carnival.
The fabulous Carnival is held every year in late winter and draws crowds from all over the region thanks to the flamboyant costumes and party atmosphere.
Currently, costumes from the 2019 Carnival are on display, as well as the winning costumes from the 2020 parade, but the costumes will change each year, allowing guests to relive the magic of the previous year's Carnival.
There are also references to some traditional elements of the Carnival, such as the Cuerva, the Murgas and the Night-time Carnival.
And in the audiovisual room, which is home to a huge tiger float, guests can watch a 40-minute video of the previous year's parade.
